Claiming, confirming and turning down work

Take open work nobody holds, commit to the visits proposed for your day, and hand back work you can't do — from the Schedule tab in Lupa Tech.

Claim open work

Open work — visits nobody is assigned to — shows on every technician's schedule alongside their own visits, with a Claim button. It includes visits the office booked without a technician, visits a technician booked with Add Visit, and recurring visits that have no default technician.

To claim a visit

  1. On Schedule, go to the day and find the visit with Claim.
  2. Choose Claim.

Lupa confirms with Visit claimed. The visit is now yours, Confirmed, and it leaves the open pool for everyone else. Drag it into position on your day once you have it — see Your day in Lupa Tech.

If somebody beat you to it. Claims are first come, first served. If another technician took the visit first, Lupa says That visit is already assigned to another technician.

Past days. Open work on a day that has passed can't be claimed. The office reschedules or records it.

Confirm or reject a visit proposed for you

Visits from a recurring schedule that has you as its technician appear on your days ahead of time, marked future and Upcoming. They aren't committed until you confirm them.

To confirm a visit

  1. On Schedule, find the visit marked future.
  2. Choose Confirm.

Lupa confirms with Visit confirmed, and the visit becomes Confirmed. On today's schedule a future visit has to be confirmed before On My Way and Start appear on it.

To reject a visit you can't make

  1. On Schedule, find the visit marked future.
  2. Choose Reject.

The visit becomes Declined on your schedule and on the office's board, so the office can place it elsewhere. If the office needs to know soon, tell them as well.

Saving an edit to a future visit, or dragging it on your schedule, also confirms it.

Decline a visit already booked to you

A visit booked to you on a day still ahead — Scheduled or Confirmed — carries Decline.

To decline a booked visit

  1. On Schedule, go to the day and find the visit.
  2. Choose Decline.
  3. Confirm Decline this visit? The Owner will be notified.

Lupa shows Visit declined — Owner notified, and the visit becomes Declined on your schedule and the office's board. When the visit came from your recurring schedule or you had claimed it, your company's admins get a warning notification. A visit the office assigned to you directly is marked Declined without a notification.

On the day itself there is no Decline. Call the office, or, if you get there and can't do the work, Skip it with a reason — see Working a visit.

What can't be turned down

  • Open work. There's nothing to decline — leave it for another technician to claim. If you try, Lupa says Open-pool visits can't be declined — just leave them for another tech to claim.
  • Past days. Declining is about work still ahead; a day that has passed is corrected by the office.
  • Visits already under way. A visit that is On the way, In progress or finished can't be declined. Lupa says This visit can't be declined in its current state.
