What a technician can see

What a technician's own screens show them in Lupa Tech and in the field app, and what client assignments on the Team tab do.

This page is for admins deciding what to hand a technician. Technicians themselves can read Lupa Tech in a browser and The field app.

In Lupa Tech (the browser)

A technician who signs in lands on Lupa Tech. Lupa Dash is closed to them: opening it sends them back to Lupa Tech.

Schedule shows the visits booked to them and the open pool — work nobody holds yet, which they can claim.

Clients and Comms list only the clients their work touches:

  • a client with a visit booked to them, at any date, past or future;
  • a client with a visit nobody holds — open-pool work — at any date;
  • the lead client of an active recurring schedule that is theirs or nobody's — on a route, that means the route's default technician is them or is not set; off a route, the schedule's own default technician is them or is not set.

The narrowing follows the work, and there is no setting that widens or tightens it. Book or reassign the work, and the client appears or drops out. Admins and owners who open Lupa Tech see every client.

A client a technician adds. Technicians can add clients from Clients with + (Add client) at the top of the list. The new client does not appear in that technician's own list until work is booked there that ties it to them.

If a technician says a client is missing. No work ties the client to them — no visit booked to them, nothing in the open pool, no schedule that is theirs or unassigned. Book or reassign the work and the client appears.

In the field app

The Clients tab holds client records, and technicians can add and edit clients from the field app. When someone leaves, deactivate them promptly — see Removing access.

The Agenda tab shows the technician's own visits and Open Pool shows unclaimed work. Invoices are for admins only: Lupa refuses every invoice request from a technician's sign-in, so a technician cannot read or change invoices from the app.

Client assignments

Each person's details on the Team tab carry a Client assignments list. An assignment tells a technician a client is theirs to look after: assigning a client to an active technician sends them a notification that reads You were assigned a new client: followed by the client's name. Assigning a client to an admin sends nothing.

What a technician's lists show follows the work booked to them, as described above. Deactivating somebody returns the visits booked to them.

To assign a client to somebody

  1. Choose Team and choose the person.
  2. Under Client assignments, pick a client from Add a client….
  3. Choose Assign.

What you'll see. Client assigned. The client joins their Client assignments list; the clients they see in Lupa Tech do not change. Clients already assigned to that person are not offered again.

To remove an assignment

  1. Choose Team and choose the person.
  2. Choose × (Unassign) beside the client.

What you'll see. The client leaves their Client assignments list.

If the list is empty. It reads No assignments yet.
