Checking a price

The pricing calculator prices one of a customer's service locations against your company's pricing model, so you can quote a customer the price Lupa will charge.

Admins open it from the customer's file in Lupa Dash. Technicians have the same Calculate price button on the customer's file in Lupa Tech, and can save a price the same way.

Check a price for a customer

  1. Choose Clients in the left rail and open the customer.
  2. Choose Calculate price. Under Flat Rate the calculator is titled Set unit price; under the other models it is titled Calculate price.
  3. If the customer has more than one service location, or none of their own, choose one under Location. Until you do, the calculator reads "Select a location to compute price."
  4. Fill in what the model asks for:
  5. Flat Rate: Unit price (per visit).
  6. Dog Size × Yard Size Grid: Dog size, Yard size and Number of dogs.
  7. Dogs × Cadence Matrix: Cadence and Number of dogs.

The price updates as you change the inputs, with a line showing how it was reached — for example "$45.00 = Small dog × Medium yard ($15.00) × 3 dogs" or "$30.00 = 2 dogs × Weekly".

Reopening the calculator for a location you have saved before fills in the inputs you used last time.

Save the price for that location

To keep the price, choose Save as default unit price. Lupa confirms with "Saved" and the price, for that location. To close without saving, choose Cancel.

What you save is the location's Default unit price. Only Flat Rate reads it when a visit is scheduled: under Flat Rate it replaces the company-wide rate for that location. Under the two table models, saving it does not put a price on scheduled visits. See Pricing your work.

If there's no price

Save as default unit price is unavailable while there is no price. The calculator says why:

  • "Not priced — admin needs to set this combination." — the model has no price for what you entered. An admin fills it in under Pricing in the left rail.
  • "Pick a dog size and yard size to see the price."
  • "Enter a positive number of dogs."
  • "Select a location to compute price."

Under Flat Rate, enter a Unit price (per visit) if the calculator shows no price.

Under Dogs × Cadence Matrix, choose a Cadence before reading the result. If a cadence and number of dogs still give no price, an admin fills in that cell, or both 1 dog and + each additional for that column, under Pricing in the left rail.

If no price shows under any inputs, contact Lupa with Contact support.

If no pricing model has been saved yet, opening the calculator puts your company on Dog Size × Yard Size Grid with a blank grid. Choose the model you want under Pricing first.

Change the model from a customer's file

In Lupa Dash, Configure pricing on the customer's file opens Pricing in the left rail. The model is company-wide; it is not set per customer.
