Pausing and ending a schedule

Stop a schedule for a season and start it again, or end it for good.

You want to… Use Can be restarted? Visits from today on
Take a break and come back Pause, later Resume Yes Unconfirmed visits removed; confirmed visits kept
End the contract Cancel No Unconfirmed and confirmed visits removed

Either way, visits before today, and any visit already under way, finished or skipped, are kept, and completed work still bills.

Pause a schedule

A paused schedule produces no new visits, and keeps its rule so you can resume it.

Pausing deletes visits. From today on, every one of the schedule's visits that is not yet confirmed with the client is permanently removed from the board. Visits already confirmed with the client are kept and stay on the board through the pause. Check the board before pausing a schedule whose visits are already dispatched.

To pause a schedule:

  1. Open Recurring.
  2. Choose Pause on the schedule's card.

On the web, Pause acts on the first click — there is no confirmation. The card's badge changes to Paused and its Next: dates disappear.

On the phone, Pause on the Edit Recurring screen asks you to confirm first. Pausing works the same way on the phone as on the web.

Resume a schedule

To resume a paused schedule:

  1. Open Recurring.
  2. Choose Resume on the schedule's card.

The schedule picks its rhythm back up from its rule: the dates the rule calls for from today on come back onto the board. Changes made by hand to the visits that were removed when you paused do not come back.

After you resume. Check the board for the location over the next few days. If a catch-up visit appears for dates the schedule was paused, skip it on its day — see Drop one visit from a recurring schedule.

End a schedule for good

To cancel a schedule:

  1. Open Recurring.
  2. Choose Cancel on the schedule's card.
  3. Confirm: Cancel this schedule? Future confirmed visits linked to it will be removed.

Cancelling removes the schedule's visits from today on — unconfirmed ones as well as the confirmed ones the prompt mentions. The card stays in the list, dimmed and marked Cancelled, with no buttons. A cancelled schedule cannot be resumed; to start again, create a new schedule.

On the phone, Cancel Schedule asks Stop this recurring schedule? Upcoming confirmed visits are removed. This cannot be undone. Choose Stop Recurring to confirm or Keep it to back out.

If you only want a break. Use Pause — it keeps the rule and the confirmed visits.

Only admins can pause, resume or cancel a schedule. The phone app shows these controls to admins only.
