Signing in and your account

How to sign in, keep your own profile and password up to date, recover a forgotten password, and sign out.

Lupa has two browser surfaces. Lupa Dash is the office view for admins. Lupa Tech is the technician view. There is also a field app for phones, covered in The field app.

How it works. One sign-in page serves everybody. After you sign in, Lupa sends you to the surface that matches your role: admins land on Lupa Dash, technicians land on Lupa Tech. There is no surface picker.

To sign in in a browser

  1. Open the sign-in page. It reads Sign in to your account.
  2. Enter your Email and Password.
  3. Choose Sign In.

What you'll see. Lupa Dash if you are an admin, or Lupa Tech if you are a technician. The left rail carries your tabs. Beneath them, the Lupa Dash rail carries Theme, Notifications, Profile, Settings, Contact support and Sign out; the Lupa Tech rail carries Theme, Notifications, Settings and Sign out.

To sign in to the field app

  1. Open the app. The sign-in screen reads Sign in to your dispatch.
  2. Enter your Email and Password — the same ones you use in a browser.
  3. Tap Sign In.

The app opens on the Agenda tab. It offers to save your password to the phone's password manager, and stays signed in when you close and reopen it.

If sign-in fails

  • Invalid email or password — the email or password is wrong. The message is the same whichever one it is.
  • Too many login attempts. Please try again later. — after five failed attempts within a minute, for the same email or from the same place, sign-in is paused. Wait a minute and try again.
  • This account has been suspended or This account is no longer active — the whole company's access has been stopped. Contact your administrator.

If the sign-in page reappears with a message. The message states the reason — an invite that is no longer valid, a password that was just reset, or a session that ended. Sign in again.

Change your name, contact details and working hours

How it works. Your profile carries your name, email, phone, the window your working day occupies, and an optional personal timezone. The email address is where notification emails go — see Notifications. These settings are yours alone; each person edits their own.

To edit your profile as a technician

  1. Choose Settings in the left rail.
  2. Edit Name, Email and Phone.
  3. Set Day starts at and Day ends at.
  4. Fill in Personal timezone override only if you work in a different timezone from the rest of the company. Leave it blank to use the company's.
  5. Choose Save profile.

To edit your profile as an admin

Either of these opens the same fields:

  • Choose Settings in the left rail, then the Profile tab, and choose Save profile when you are done.
  • Choose Profile in the left rail. The My Profile window shows Name, Email, Phone, Day start, Day end and Timezone; choose Save.

What you'll see. A Profile saved message.

Notes

  • The end of your day must be later than its start, or the profile is not saved.
  • The hint under the day fields says a blank field inherits a company default. There is no company-wide day window in Lupa: a blank Day starts at is read as 08:00. Set both fields if your day is different.

Change your password

To change your password while signed in

  1. Open Settings (as an admin, the Profile tab of Settings).
  2. Under Change password, type a new password of at least 12 characters.
  3. Choose Update.

What you'll see. A Password updated message. A password shorter than 12 characters is refused with an error message, and the old password stays in place.

Reset a password you've forgotten

How it works. The browser sign-in page offers a reset by email. Nobody at your company can reset your password for you. The field app has no reset link; use a browser.

To reset your password

  1. On the sign-in page choose Forgot password?.
  2. Under Reset password, enter your Email and choose Send reset link.
  3. Open the email titled Reset your Lupa password and follow the link. It works for one hour.
  4. Under Choose a new password, enter the same new password in New password and Confirm. Use at least 12 characters.
  5. Choose Update password.

What you'll see. The sign-in page with Password updated. Please sign in with your new password. Resetting signs you out everywhere, including the field app, so sign in again on each device.

If the email doesn't arrive. Check that the address you typed is the one your account uses. Lupa answers every request with If an account exists with that email, a reset link has been sent., whether or not the address is on an account, and a deactivated account is not sent a link.

If you see "Could not update password. Please try again." or "Password must be at least 8 characters." The password is too short, or longer than 72 characters. Enter one of 12 to 72 characters in both fields.

If you see "Passwords did not match. Please try again." Type the same new password in New password and Confirm.

If the link opens Reset password instead of Choose a new password. The link has expired or has already been used, and the page shows no message saying so. Enter your Email there and choose Send reset link for a new one.

Sign out

How it works. Signing out ends the session on that browser or that phone only. Other devices you are signed in on stay signed in.

To sign out in a browser

  1. Choose Sign out at the bottom of the left rail.

To sign out of the field app

  1. Open the Settings tab.
  2. Under Account, tap Sign out, then Sign out again to confirm.

What you'll see. The sign-in page or screen.

If you need to cut off a device you don't have. Reset your password: that signs you out everywhere. An admin can also deactivate a team member, which ends their access on every device — see Removing access.
