Getting the app¶
Installing the field app on Android, using Lupa Tech in a phone browser on an iPhone, and signing in for the first time.
Before you start¶
You need a Lupa account first. The app has no sign-up: accept the invite your company emailed you, in a browser, and choose your password there — see Joining a company you were invited to. You then sign in to the app with the same email and password.
Install the app on an Android phone¶
The field app is an Android app. It is not in the Play Store: your company gets an install link from Lupa, and your admin passes it on to you.
To install the app
- Get the Android install link from your admin.
- Open the install link on your Android phone. If Android asks whether to allow installs from this source, allow it for this install.
- Open Lupa from your apps.
What you'll see. The Lupa Tech sign-in screen.
If you are the admin. Ask Lupa for the Android install link with Contact support in the Lupa Dash left rail, then send the link to your technicians — see Getting help from Lupa. Technicians on an iPhone use Lupa Tech in the browser instead; see Work from an iPhone.
Sign in for the first time¶
To sign in
- Enter your Email and Password.
- Tap Sign In.
What you'll see. The Agenda tab with today's work. You stay signed in when you close and reopen the app, until you sign out or your access is ended from the office.
When you first turn on location sharing, Android asks for permission to use your location — see Sharing your location. After a first sign-in, your phone may offer to save the password to its password manager.
If it says "Invalid email or password". Check both and try again. If you have forgotten your password, reset it in a browser — see Signing in and your account. A deactivated account gets the same message; if your password is right, ask your admin whether your account is still active.
If it says "Too many login attempts. Please try again later." Wait a while before trying again.
If it says "This account has been suspended" or "This account is no longer active". Your company's Lupa account is on hold or closed, not just yours. Ask your admin.
If it says "Could not reach Lupa." The phone has no connection to Lupa. Check your signal or Wi-Fi and try again.
If it says "Lupa is having trouble right now." Lupa answered with an error. Wait a moment and try again.
The address the app connects to, and the app's version, are printed at the foot of the sign-in screen. Quote them if you contact support.
Work from an iPhone¶
There is no iPhone app. On an iPhone, work from Lupa Tech in the browser.
To open Lupa Tech on an iPhone
- Open Safari and go to
/techon your company's Lupa address. - Sign in with the same email and password.
Lupa Tech carries your schedule, open work, clients and messages. A few things are only in the Android app — see the comparison in For technicians.
